TOOL PRIVACY NOTICE
Privacy and Data Use for Interactive Security Tools
What our calculators, checklists and planners ask for, how results are produced and what information you should never enter into a public planning tool.
Data-minimisation rules
| Appropriate planning input | Do not enter |
|---|---|
| Country, broad property type, number of entrances, equipment quantities and budget band | Exact address, alarm code, door code, passwords or device recovery codes |
| General room and coverage requirements | A public map of hidden entry routes, safe locations or security blind spots |
| Illustrative storage, cost and maintenance choices | Unredacted footage, personal identity documents or access logs |
| Household needs expressed in broad categories | Sensitive medical, child or vulnerability details that are not necessary for the result |
Calculator results
Outputs are planning aids, not quotations, risk scores or guarantees. Assumptions should be displayed near the result and dated when price-sensitive. A tool must not claim to predict burglary at an individual address, promise crime prevention or guarantee emergency-service attendance.
Forms and lead routing
A calculator is separate from a contact or matching form. If a future tool transmits information to Home Security Innovations or a provider, the form must state the recipient, purpose, required fields, consent basis and relevant retention information before submission. Demo forms must not be treated as operational lead routes.
Analytics and site controls
Normal website analytics, security logging and cookie controls may still apply to the page itself as described in the main Privacy Policy. Browser-only calculation means the entered values are used locally to produce the result; it does not mean the surrounding website has no logs or cookies.
Report a concern
If a tool requests unnecessary sensitive data, exposes inputs in a URL, produces misleading country-specific advice or appears to transmit details unexpectedly, stop using it and report the tool URL through the contact page.
