How We Verify Home Security Companies and Directory Listings
Our directory separates independent research, business-supplied information and paid visibility. This page explains what each status means, what we check, and how corrections are handled.
Listing statuses
Unclaimed
We identified the business through public sources, but it has not registered with or endorsed Home Security Innovations. Its description is independently written from public information.
Claimed
An authorised representative has asked to manage the profile and supplied business information. Claimed does not automatically mean independently verified.
Independently checked
We checked core identity, website, service area and an applicable official licence or accreditation source where a reliable public source exists. The listing shows the date checked.
Featured
A paid or promotional placement. Featured status affects visibility only; it does not replace our checks or increase an editorial rating. Paid relationships are labelled.
Our review process
- Identity: confirm that the business appears to be genuinely operating through its official website and other reliable records.
- Service scope: distinguish equipment supply, installation, self-monitoring, professional monitoring, keyholding, guard response and emergency-services escalation.
- Service area: record the country and stated local coverage without implying nationwide availability.
- Credentials: check the most relevant official register or accreditation source where possible. We do not treat a logo alone as proof.
- Claims: remove or qualify unverifiable superlatives, guaranteed-response statements and implied police attendance.
- Dating: publish a last-checked date and schedule material claims for rechecking.

Monitoring and response claims
We describe what a provider says happens after an alarm: customer notification, keyholder contact, monitoring-centre verification, guard or patrol response, keyholding, or emergency-services escalation where criteria are met. We do not translate these into a promise of physical or police attendance.
Reviews, rankings and prices
- We do not fabricate ratings or copy review scores without identifying the source and date.
- A company is not ranked first merely because it pays for visibility or submits a listing.
- Prices, contracts, cancellation terms and availability can change; comparison pages show a checked date and encourage direct confirmation.
Corrections, claims and removal requests
Businesses and readers can report an error through our contact or registration form. We may ask for evidence of authority before changing a claimed profile. Material corrections are reviewed promptly; disputed factual claims may be temporarily removed while checked. Legitimate public-interest directory information is not automatically removed solely because it is unclaimed, but inaccurate information will be corrected.
