Make the bike hard to take and easier to identify
A hidden tracker may provide a location after theft, but locks, anchoring, frame records and fast reporting remain the primary plan.
Before adding a tracker
- Record the frame number, photographs, distinctive marks and proof of ownership.
- Use suitable locks through the frame and an immovable stand.
- Secure removable batteries, wheels, displays and accessories.
- Choose a tracker with coverage and battery behaviour suited to parking locations.
- Test whether the mount affects signal, weather resistance or servicing.
- Understand whether unwanted-tracking warnings may alert someone moving the bike.
After an alert
- Check that a household member or legitimate user has not moved the bike.
- Preserve the map, time and device-status information.
- Report the theft through the local police process.
- Provide frame details and location updates as requested.
- Do not enter private property or attempt recovery yourself.
- Notify insurer, bike register or property manager where relevant.
Concealment has trade-offs. Metal frames, enclosed compartments and low mounting can reduce signal, while obvious mounting can invite removal. Test the final position.
