Use the tracker as supporting location information
A luggage tag can show a recent location, but the airline’s tracing record, bag tag and reporting process remain essential. Never enter restricted areas or confront staff based on an app map.
Travel checklist
- Check the airline, airport and aviation battery rules for the exact tracker.
- Use a compliant installed battery and protect the device from accidental activation or damage.
- Photograph the bag and contents appropriately; keep the baggage receipt.
- Name the tracker without exposing a home address or sensitive identity.
- Confirm roaming, network and phone compatibility at the destination.
- Report a missing bag before leaving the airport and keep the tracing reference.
- Share location links only through a channel the airline accepts and revoke them afterward.
A map pin is not proof that a person stole the bag. Airports contain overlapping baggage areas, vehicles and buildings, and consumer location can be delayed.
Battery and privacy checks
Rules distinguish installed devices from spare batteries and can change by carrier and route. Review the exact airline plus the departure, connection and arrival authority. Also remove old travel companions from location sharing and reset a tracker before resale.
